Lake Park unveils new Summer Stage at Musical Mondays kickoff
Lake Park will officially open its new, permanent Summer Stage this Monday, July 2 to kick off its 15th Musical Mondays season.
The new stage, located near Park Picnic Area #3, is made of a timber frame superstructure over a concrete base. It replaces the uncovered plywood platform stage used in years past.
A special ceremony will start at 6 p.m. to officially open the stage. Milwaukee County Parks Director Sue Black will also be in attendance to usher in the 2012 season of free live music.
The season will start with a live performance from Liberty Call, a high-energy U.S. Navy show band from the Great Lakes Naval Base.
Lawn seating and picnic tables are available. Carry-ins and picnics are welcome.
The Musical Mondays series will continue weekly from 6:30 to 8 p.m. through Aug. 27. A kid-friendly Wonderful Wednesdays will also take place at the Summer Stage July 11, 18, 25 and Aug. 1 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
More information about this year's lineup at the Lake Park Summer Stage can be found online.
