Locust Street Festival: June 14
Over 15,000 people will pack East Locust Street between Humboldt and Holton to enjoy six outdoor music stages and a multitude of artists, vendors, a drumcircle, participate in childrens activities and 11 different food and drink vendors.
The street festival is in its 39th year and begins with its annual Riverwest Beer Run/Walk, which covers 1.8 miles and features four beer stops.
The festival's tagline is "No dogs. No carry-ins. No drama."
Where: East Locust Street between Humboldt and Holton.
Hours: Sunday, June 14 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. (Beer Run starts at 11:30 a.m.)
Admission: Free, but registration and a fee is required for the run/walk.
To register, Early registration is $22 and must be postmarked by June 1. Day of race registration fee is $25.
Highlights: The Tracks Tavern, Lakefront Brewery, Linneman's Riverwest Inn, Klingers East, The Riverwest Public House, and The Wisconsin Veterans will host stages for over 30 bands.
And, festival goers of all ages can make their own music at the popular Drum Circle on the corner of Locust & Bremen hosted by the Milwaukee Public Theatre.
This year's charitable beneficiary is COA Youth and Family Centers.
