MCTS offers service to Irish Fest
Milwaukee County Transit System is offering "Straight to the Gate" service for Irish Fest to offer safe travels to attendees. Buses will run for both downtown shuttles and Freeway Flyers.
Downtown shuttles run roughly every 30 minutes from 4:30 to 11:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 18; 3:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 19; 11:30 to 12:30 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 20; and 8 a.m. to midnight on Sunday, Aug.21.
Festival-goers can hop on the shuttles along Wisconsin Avenue from North 6th Street to North Jackson Street All inbound stops are on the south side of the street. At Jackson Street, buses travel south non-stop to East Chicago Street and then directly to the mid-gate. Stops are indicated by the Summerfest logo. Leaving the grounds, stops will be made along Wisconsin Avenue between Cass and North 5th Streets.
Freeway Flyers will run from five Milwaukee County Park & Rides: Watertown Plank Road, Brown Deer Road East, Holt Avenue, College Avenue and State Fair Park. Service operates every half hour on the half hour and the hour.
Shuttles are $3.00 cash round trip for adults and $1.50 for children 6-11 years, seniors (age 65+) and disabled persons with proper ID. MCTS Freeway Flyer round-trip fare is $6.50 cash for adults and $3 for children ages 6-11, seniors, 65 and older, and disabled persons with ID.
All local routes will continue as planned.
