Def Leppard added to Summerfest lineup
Summerfest has added stalwart British metal act Def Leppard to the Marcus Amphitheater lineup Tuesday, July 5 at 7:30 p.m.
American classic rock outfit Heart opens.
Those who last week were dumbfounded, asking, "The Black Whoooo?," can again rejoice at the addition of a more traditional style headliner.
Tickets go on sale Saturday, March 12 at 11 a.m. and include Summerfest admission. They are priced at $15 and $50, but once fees are added the final prices are $38.25 and $74.10.
You can buy tickets at the Marcus box office, currently located at Mid-Gate, Walmart and via the usual Ticketmaster outlets.
The other main stage acts annouced so far include Toby Keith on Friday, July 1, The Black Keys on Wednesday, July 6, Katy Perry on Thursday, July 7 and Sugarland on Sunday, July 10.
In other Summerfest news, a source at the festival assures me Verge will return and the folks down on Harbor Drive are working hard to put it together.

hey Midwest. wanna bet Def Leppard sells more tix than the Black Keys? believe it or not, i enjoy both (yes, it's possible), but if you had to pick one or the other as a "sidestage" act, it would have to be BK.

If the gathering of thousands of mullets and feathered 'dos could cause a black hole, the Marcus would swallow up the entire city on July 5.

Black Keys got me excited. Heck, even Katy Perry got me excited (for different reasons). This does not. Can't win em all, I guess.

Summerfest hits a home run with the Black Keys and follows it up with Def Leppard? A great get for a side stage, but for the ampitheater? The fest takes another step toward musical irrelevance.
