Social Circle: "What's your favorite small summer festival?"
Welcome to a new weekly segment called "Social Circle." It's OnMilwaukee.com's first article that's truly a group effort between readers, social networkers and the OnMilwaukee.com editors.
Every Monday, we will ask a question via Facebook and Twitter and then post the responses from our Facebook "likers" and Twitter followers in the Thursday column. Well-known Milwaukee movers-and-shakers will contribute, too.
The festival season officially started last weekend with a couple of church festivals, and now, every weekend through October will celebrate something outdoors somewhere in Milwaukee. It's one of the best parts about living in Brew City.
And although Summerfest and State Fair are local favorites, this week, we asked people to shout-out to their favorite small festival. Feel free to voice yours via the Talkback feature.
Melanie Ariens: "Not really a 'festival' but I love Live at the Lakefront, free music on Wednesday nights on the outdoor seating area at Discovery World. Great music, Lake Michigan sunset, sailboats, the schooner, free entrance into the aquarium. Pack up dinner and head down!"
Mike Brenner: "Milwaukee's Firkin Fest. There's nothing better than stumbling around with a HUGE pretzel necklace while drinking all the amazing local craft beer you can pour down your gullet and listening to local bands!"
Kim Draeger Bacik: "Chill On the Hill in Bay View every Tuesday night."
Amanda T. Bell: "Anything anywhere with food on a stick. And not just the 'big fair' with stick food!"
Laura Danhauser: "Bastille Days."
Matthew Eells: "Locust Street Festival, by far!"
Russ Fascia: "Locust Street Festival. I see people from my childhood."
Anthony Garrison: "Locust Street Festival! Also, there's fun stuff for kids at Woodland Pattern, as well as great local acts."
Jane German: "Any that take place in the parking lot of a church."
Nancy Ketchman: "Love the Skyline Music Series sponsored by COA on Tuesday evenings (in Kadish Park)."
Phil Kirby: "Locust Street Festival and Bastille Days."
Chris Kranjniak: "BYO Gallery Fest."
Trenni Kusnierek: "Irish Fest."
Hannah Medrow: "Center Street Daze, starting with the pushcart race."
Dwight Moss: River Rhythms at Pere Marquette Park.
Jill Neyens: "Yep, Locust Street!"
John Steinmueller: "Bastille Days."
Jake Sureman: "I liked that pirate festival last year in Port Washington. I hope they have it again this year, and that the weather is better for it."
Deanna Wecker: "Any time there is a Harley Fest on Brady Street."
Cheryl Voss: "I'm with Kim – Chill on the Hill Tuesday nights in Bay View's lovely Humboldt Park."

Lately, Rockerbox and that Pabst thing on Potter. Used to be Locust, but those Sunday festivals make Monday pretty intolerable in my old age.
