Kohl's and the State Fair team up for a family special.

Kohl's, State Fair announce new partnership

Wisconsin State Fair officials announced today that the Fair and the Fair Park Foundation have entered into a partnership with Kohl's Department Stores' Kohl's Cares Program.

As part of the agreement, Tuesday, Aug. 9 will be Kohl's Family Day at the 2011 Wisconsin State Fair. Adults 12 and older will be able to get into the Fair for $5 while kids 11 and younger get in free.

In addition to discounted admission, the partnership will help raise money for Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. For every youth who receives free admission Aug. 9, Kohl's Cares will donate $1 (up to $15,000) to recreate a "Fair Day" for children who are patients at Children's along with their families.

"The Wisconsin State Fair has a long tradition of providing value and affordability to our Fairgoers," stated Wisconsin State Fair Park Chief Executive Officer Rick Frenette.

"Our partnership with Kohl's makes it possible for us to extend an unprecedented value opportunity to our guests for this year's Fair. With the economic challenges that continue to face our community, Kohl's Family Value Day will allow those who may not have been able to attend the Fair to do so this summer."

The 2011 Wisconsin State Fair runs Aug. 4-14.
