The Sun Fair, the South Side’s largest street carnival, will kick off at 5 p.m. on Friday, May 30. It runs until 9 p.m. on Sunday, June 1, on Historic Mitchell Street, between 7th and 11th Streets.

The three-day festival will feature the Rainbow Valley Carnival, games, family-friendly activities, music, general merchandise vendors and a variety of food and beverage vendors. 

The opening ceremony starts at 5 p.m. on Friday, May 30, and will include city dignitaries, business leaders and special guests, with music provided by Los Tres Amigos Mariachi and DJ Monk.

At 5 p.m. on Saturday, La Academia de Danza Mexico will perform for attendees.

Admission is free and the fair will be held rain-or-shine. 

The event is sponsored by the Mitchell Street Business Improvement District 4 and the Historic Mitchell Street Preservation Corporation.
