In addition to all the usual headaches -- weather concerns, competition with the British Open and a sagging economy -- the U.S. Bank Championship faces a new dilemma this season.
U.S. Bank is pulling out as title sponsor of the event, which has left organizers scrambling to find a replacement in order to keep the tournament going for a 43rd year. (At last report, there was a sense of cautious optimism about the prospects).
The sponsor-search backdrop may lend a "stop and smell the roses because this may be the last time" feel to the proceedings, but the rest of the trappings will remain the same. The U.S. Bank Championship offers fans a chance to watch top-flight golf in a beautiful (and familiar) setting that is convenient and accessible.

Special rules: Cell phones/pagers must be turned off. Bags and backpacks are not permitted. Folding chairs are permitted, the carrying case is not. No cameras or video cameras during the tournament. No signs or banners are allow. No coolers, beverages, alcohol or food may be brought into or taken from the property.
Insider tips: There are two ways to watch a golf tournament. You can either plant yourself on a hole -- either at a tee or a green -- and let the players come to you. Or, you can pick a group, follow it for a few holes and then pick another group. Either way is fine, but a hybrid works well, too. Players won't sign autographs during play, but usually are willing to sign after their round or on their way to the driving range / practice green.
