This year, Summerfest's music line-up is the best I've seen in years. In fact, there are so many good shows that, for the first time, I will be forced to miss five or more concert wish-list toppers because they either conflict with another show I am reviewing or they take place on one of my few nights off.

However, if I finally figure out how to split myself in two, something mothers everywhere have wished for generations, I will be able to check out shows happening at the same time. However, assuming I am not going to birth a second me by later today, I shall accept, for now, that I will have to miss some great gigs this year.

1. The Black Keys (Wednesday, July 6, Marcus Amphitheater, 7:30 p.m.)
Each OnMilwaukee.com editor is reviewing one Marcus Amphitheater show (and multiple side stage shows) and since I already had the honor of reviewing the spectacular Peter Gabriel performance last Wednesday night, my coworker Bobby Tanzilo will review the Black Keys. Bobby's a fantastic music writer, and probably more suited than I to write it, but I would have loved to have caught The Keys along with opener Florence + The Machine.

2. Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings (Friday, July 8, Potawatomi Bingo Casino Stage, 10 p.m.)
A friend introduced me to Sharon Jones' "Learning The Hard Way" about a year ago, and I have been an avid listener ever since. However, Jones' concert conflicts with Dropkick Murphys (Harley Roadhouse Stage; 10 p.m.) which, for one, I'll be reviewing and, two, wouldn't miss for all the Guinness in Ireland (or Boston.)

3. Michael Franti (Thursday, July 7, Miller Lite Oasis, 10 p.m.)
Franti will surely deliver a groovy, feel-good set saturated with empowering social justice messages and I'm gonna have to miss it because just a couple of stages away, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros (U.S. Cellular Stage; 10 p.m.) are gonna tear it up.

4. Flaming Lips (Saturday, July 9, Harley Roadhouse Stage, 10 p.m.)
My biggest concert heartbreak of the season is missing The Flaming Lips because it conflicts with De La Soul (Potawatomi Bingo Casino Stage; 10 p.m.) I am scheduled to review De la Soul, and I'm a huge fan, so I am really, really hoping to experience a spontaneous cloning around 9:30 on Saturday night so I can enjoy both.

5. Amos Lee (Sunday, July 10, Briggs & Stratton Stage, 9:30 p.m.)
I have seen the sweet Amos Lee before, and I think he would make a mellow, easy end to a great Summerfest season, but I am going to have a long weekend at the Big Gig and will, most likely, take the last night off. But if you have it in you, go. Lee's latest album, "Mission Bell," is a slice of neo-soul heaven.
