This morning a combination of things combined to feel a little like a commuter's early Christmas gift.

First, I awoke to find so little snow on the ground that it wasn't even worth shoveling yet! That means I might be able to only do it once today.

Then, thanks to the fact that it's Christmas Eve, the streets were nearly empty and best of all there were no school buses. The freeway on-ramps weren't metered and were also very lightly traveled.

It meant that despite the falling snow, this morning's commute was among the quickest ever.
