This shower head costs just $18.75 at homedepot.com, but at the store, they have even less expensive models. |

Sometimes the best gifts don't have to cost a fortune.
Think about it, every morning, you start your day with a shower, but how often have you lamented that drizzly, leaky and puny showerhead that came with your house or apartment?
Replacing your showerhead is about the easiest and potentially cheapest home improvement project you can undertake, requiring only a wrench and about five minutes.
Surprisingly, one of your best options out there costs just a few bucks.
Sure, you can spend hundreds on a new showerhead, but ironically, the nondescript showerheads like you used in gym class are some of the best.
First, they're powerful. Powerful like a fire hose. And secondly, they use much less water, perhaps 40 percent less, than your old sucky shower head.
So, less than $20 at Home Depot gets you a cheap, powerful (and just slightly homely showerhead) that is capable of delivering 1.5 gallons per minute of water, while feeling stronger than 2.5 gallons per minute.
That kind of shower upgrade will wake you up and get you squeaky clean in a flash.

I agree, we should simply consume as much as we can because we can. I'm going to go home and sprend the rest of my day flushing toilets and opening every spigot in my house. Conspicuos consumption has made America what it is today for cryin out loud.

Thanks, but no thanks. One reason to live in Milwaukee (among the many) is the fact that we can use AS MUCH WATER as we wish. Aren't we the "Fresh Coast"? Isn't the Great Lakes the largest amount of fresh water in the world? What is there to conserve, especially when showerheads are concerned? I will keep my 15 GPM "Costa Rican Waterfall" model for now.
