The "Social Circle" is a group effort between readers, social networkers and the OnMilwaukee.com editors. Every Monday, we ask a question via Facebook and Twitter and then post the responses from our Facebook "likers" and Twitter followers in this column. Well-known Milwaukee movers and shakers will contribute, too.

It’s a cliche question, but one always worth asking. We simply cannot spend enough time identifying what or who we are grateful for in our lives. In fact, some believe gratitude is the key to happiness.

OnMilwaukee.com is grateful for so many things, from our readers to our new Downtown office to the chance to live in one of the most amazing cities in the country.

What are you grateful for?

Robin Barry: "I am grateful for having a good job."

Bryan Beard: "Broke up with my girlfriend right before the holidays."

Sara Berg: "Having a spouse who's supportive and isn't a train wreck."

Nicholas Binder: "I still have both my parents, a solid group of friends, my health and a job I enjoy going to every day."

Keith Brammer: "As always, my wife, Janet Brammer. Yes, it sounds cliche and sappy, but hey, it's true."

Brian Brehmer: "The little surprises that make the darkness a little bit brighter."

Kat Froelich: "The generous donations to 88Nine Radio Milwaukee. I'm so grateful for the people that believe in us and support our mission."

Andrea Grisar Judson: "I am so grateful that my mother showed me how to love the diversity in humans and all of nature. I strive everyday to model this to my children, only wishing that my disposition was as calm and gentle as hers."

Maureen Haslam: "Working for OnMilwaukee.com! I love it!"

Jeffrey Jordan: "I have a new knee. Not only am I thankful to Dr. Tony Ferguson and all the folks at Wisconsin Orthopedic Hospital, but all my friends who have rallied to my side during my recovery and my always faithful companion, friend and wife,  Maria Costello."

Richard Kehrin: "I am grateful that despite being unemployed for nearly six months, my family is healthy, we haven't experienced any true emergencies financially and my parents and brothers have been truly generous in small ways that really add up!"

Kent Knapp: "My 1-year-old daughter, Dharma."

Shelly La Londe: "Breathing."

Gregory Leon: "I'm extremely grateful of all the wonderful people I have had the pleasure to meet and that have supported me since my move to this amazing city one year ago."

Erin Linnane: "There are so many. I'll go with my husband of 14 years who supports most of my wacky ideas!"

Shannon Matthews: "My beautiful daughter who is my best friend. I can't imagine my life without her."

Susan Molls: "So thankful for my 11-month-old grandson, and for being able to care for him while his parents are at work."

Kathe Nedeau: "My family and friends and that I am finally retired,"

Elysabeth Reichman: "My baby, obviously. A supportive husband. A family who certainly has created a little village of love and support around us."

Sara Santiago: "My therapist. For one hour, once a week, that woman earns every (explicative) penny of that paycheck."

Toni Spott: "Hmmmm, so much to be grateful for and so little time to put it all down."

Laron Taylor: "Mom’s health."

William Zuback: "Family."
