The giant fireworks display at the Lakefront is held July 3. The following night, Summerfest turns to Scott Weiland, the DeLeo brothers and Eric Kretz -- once collectively known as Stone Temple Pilots -- to provide the excitement.
The STP reunion headlines the Big Gig with a show at 7:30 p.m. July 4 at the Marcus Amphitheater. An opening act will be announced later.
Tickets for the show go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday and cost $55, $45 and $30, which includes Summerfest admission and facility fees. Tickets are available at the Amphitheater box office, Ticketmaster.com, its outlets and by phone (414) 276-4545.
A limited number of bar-coded wristbands for free general admission lawn seats will be available the day of the concert for this show. The wristbands will be issued in the forecourt of the Marcus Amphitheater on a first-come, first-served basis the day of the show to patrons who have obtained admission to the grounds. Patrons must obtain admission to Summerfest in addition to any free general admission lawn ticket.
Summerfest 2008 runs from June 26 to July 6.

Nothing against STP or Summerfest -- points for creativity and variety -- but not sure this band could sell out the Pabst. Interesting choice.

was this the big announcement that 102.1 was suppose to announce yesterday at 3PM, but then was told they couldn't announce it until 12 AM this morning...wow...pretty pathetic.

Hey, Soccer Fan: May you always find an outside table at Hooligans this summer and may your beer always be cold and plentiful. :-)

Hey Z Boy, we agree on both Stone Temple Pilots AND Hooligan's. I sense a thaw in relations. ;-)
