Milwaukee Empty Bowls

Please mark your calendars and plan to join us for our 2016 fundraiser, happening Sunday, October 9. We look forward to returning for a fourth year to the Kern Center on the Milwaukee School of Engineering Campus and are grateful to MSOE for all their generous support. 18th Annual Milwaukee Empty Bowls Event Sunday, October 9, 2016 Kern Center – MSOE | 1245 N. Broadway, Milwaukee Since 1999, Milwaukee Empty Bowls has donated $637,630 to help feed those in need in the Milwaukee metro area. More than 95% of the funds raised during this perennially popular event – held around World Food Day – go directly to aid the hungry in our community. Guests at our October event have their choice from a collection of more than 2,000 ceramic bowls handcrafted and donated by local artists, teachers and students. Soups prepared by local chefs are served with bread and other refreshments. Some of the area’s top musicians entertain guests throughout the day. (Check back here or at our website as we continue to update information on this year's restaurants and supporters!) Guests take their bowls home to serve as a reminder that there are always empty bowls in our community. With the involvement and support of MSOE, local businesses and nearly 300 volunteers, proceeds from this year’s event will benefit several agencies in the Milwaukee area. Meet our 2016 recipient organizations: Central City Churches, The Gathering, Fondy Food Center, Milwaukee Christian Center, Milwaukee Rescue Mission, Repairers of the Breach, and Tippecanoe Church. We look forward to seeing you on October 9!
