Equality - Difference - Inclusion - XXV Annual Congress of AILCFH
Is it still possible to speak of equality, difference, and inclusion under the naturalized category of sexual gender? Is the categorization of gender itself an act of violence? Should the questioning of gender be extended to wider scenarios of power and marginality? Join Julia Kristeva (University of Paris - Diderot), Mary Nash (University of Barcelona), Julieta Paredes (Mujeres Creando Comunidad), Cristina Rivera Garza (University of California - San Diego), Dinorah Cortés Vélez (Marquette University) and many others for a dynamic discussion of these and other questions.
The congress will render tribute to Saint Teresa of Ávila. The 500th anniversary of her birth prompts us to reconsider not only failures and successes of women and feminism, but also what is gained and lost in the debates concerning the overcoming of gender.
