Brady Strangstalien of Viroqua Hills Golf Course played an even par final round and finished at 6-under par to win the 111th Wisconsin State Amateur Championship sponsored by CliftonLarsonAllen at The Club at Strawberry Creek in Kenosha.

With the other four players in the top five shooting over par in the final round, an even par round from Strangstalien was all he needed to capture the coveted state title.

Strangstalien, a former member of the Winona State golf team, opened his fourth round with four consecutive birdies starting at the 2nd hole. That stretch gave him an early lead as he moved to 10-under par.

His lead took a hit early in his back nine when he bogeyed the par-four 10th hole and made a double bogey on par-three 12th hole. He would make another bogey on the 18th hole but captured the championship when Sam Frank missed a birdie putt from the fringe on his final hole that would have sent the two players to a playoff.

This is the first WSGA title for Strangstalien, who finished runner-up in the WSGA State Match Play Championship sponsored by TaylorMade earlier this summer
