ROSEMONT, Ill. -- The Admirals are on the brink of elimination from the Calder Cup Playoffs after a 4-1 loss to Chicago in the fifth game the West Division Semifinals.
The Wolves scored twice in both the first and second periods while Chicago goaltender Ondrej Pavelec stopped the first 29 Milwaukee shots. The Admirals avoided the shutout when defenseman Mark Matheson scored with eight second to play.
Chicago now leads the best of seven series, 3-2, and has a chance to put Milwaukee away Saturday night at the Bradley Center.
