Seriously, Chicago, while I'm personally cheering for the Bulls to beat Boston in the NBA Playoffs I'll never embrace the lovable losers that are the Chicago Cubs.
Frankly, no one in Milwaukee should. Rivals are rivals and we're ready for you next weekend even if your chicagotribune.com calls our starting rotation "miserable."
Anyway, Milwaukeeans, we want your help in taking back Miller Park from Chicago Cubs fans.
Brewers fans held strong during the Opening Day series, and to encourage more hometown support OnMilwaukee.com will print a special edition "Brewers Pride" T-shirt for the May 8-10 series against the Chicago Cubs.
We'll take care of the eye-catching design, but we want you to submit your best anti-Cubs slogan.
The OnMilwaukee.com staff will choose the best slogan and have them for sale online this Friday, May 1!
Submit your slogan by Wednesday, April 29 at Noon to contests@staff.onmilwaukee.com.
All slogans become property of OnMilwaukee.com. Winner will receive a free T-shirt printed with their slogan and recognition in a story on OnMilwaukee.com.
Go Brewers.

Most Cubs fans aren't that bad - I actually prefer them to most Twins and Sox fans. The annoying bravado heard from some Cubs fans during the last Miller Park series in '08 was just a collective spewing of overconfidence and pride based upon what they thought was about to happen. Well, it didn't happen, but they still can take pride in being loyal to their team. These things go in cycles. It's not that different from recent Bears-Packers rivalries. Even though the teams' histories as competitors is long, most true Packer fans cared a lot more about how we did against the Vikings over the past 10 or 15 years - because the Vikings were more serious competition than the Bears - and it was easy to hate a team with Randy Moss and a bunch of Love Boat passengers. I welcome Cub fans who wish to watch a great Brewers-Cubs game at Miller Park, and spend their money here. It may just be my opinion, but I know I'm not alone in thinking that Miller Park is a much better venue in which to watch a game than is Wrigley. Good or bad, Chicago fans just love to spend money as a sign that they love their teams. My favorite Chicago-fan-visiting-Milwaukee story: About 10 years ago a Bulls fan parks his luxury vehicle illegally outside the Bradley Center. A cop yells to him, "buddy, you can't park there." Bulls fan: "do you tow the car if I leave it there?". Cop: "no" Bulls fan: "what's the fine?" Cop: $65. Bulls fan - as walking away to the game: "see you after the game". True story. Chicago is a nice city - much nicer than L.A. or some other major cities. But I'll take Milwaukee, thank you very much. Too many people in Chicago spend their lives trying to prove they're better than their neighbors.

Another Chicagoan living in Milwaukee, but I'm a Sox fan. I'm all for being anti-cub, but I have to tell Yount 89 that if you're going to rip 'em, at least get your facts straight. The cubs actually have two world series championships...they just happen to be in 1907 and 1908. Sorry I missed the slogan deadline, but here's my contribution: Everyone has a bad century...right?

Yes. I did live in the same neighborhood as Gorman. When he had to leave the state my friend moved in and there were a few random Gorman items in the basement. Also, I lived across the street from Tony Smith (Fmr Laker PG, and MU star) I never saw him much though. This is all fun and games, but I really think that sometime people get too worked up. I always root against the cubs, but if the Brewers clinched the division I wouldnt care who won. I care about my team first, so if it helps the Brewers screw the cubs, but if it doesn't matter to the crew I could care less about the cubs. -- "Chicago: Where the only thing slower than Lou Piniella's walk to the mound is the morning commute."
