I'm back after a 15-day stay in the hospital. I come roaring back with a new knee that's stiffer than 6-iron shaft on a freezing day.

I know that people love reading my column, and one of their favorite things is to read the entertaining and enjoyable Talkbacks that are unique to OnMilwaukee.com. So, to welcome both me and you back, I've decided to give you the Talkbacks that you missed while I was gone.

Posted by Moaner -- Dave, you can't be any more predictable than your latest Bring Back Brett. What would be surprising would be if you finally admitted that Aaron Rodgers puts Favre to shame. You are typical of old men all over the world, unwilling to change your mind even in the face of a mountain of facts. At least we can all get a laugh out of your crap. It just goes to show how much you suck.

Posted by Windstorm -- Dave, the fact that you hardly ever write about the Brewers shows just how much you don't know about baseball. How a columnist for a major publication like OnMilwaukee.com can have such a glaring hole in his skill set is amazing to me. It just goes to show how much you suck.

Posted by JournExpert -- I majored in journalism in college for a year and a half and I want to explain to all the other talkbackers what's going on here. A journalist has it incumbent upon himself to realize the vast potential afforded to those who wield a mighty sword of editorial swashbuckler. This awesome responsibility, while frequently overwhelming, is one that most journalists manage to utilize in a manner both fair and balanced, like Bill O'Reilly or Wisconsin's own Greta Van Susteren. Mr. Begel violates nine of the 13 basic principles of journalism on a weekly basis and should therefore be the subject of a journalistic boycott by discerning readers with knowledge of the Edward R. Murrow fellowship standards. It just goes to show how much you suck.

Posted by InsideStuff -- I've got an inside source into OnMilwaukee.com who has confirmed that Begel (or is it Bagel) gets paid by the number of talkbacks he generates. If he gets into double figures he gets a bonus for each column. If we want to drive him out of here all we have to do is not talk back, no matter how ridiculous his column gets. It just goes to show how much you suck.

Posted by SoccerNoOne -- Talk about being in the stupid minority. Soccer is not just the beautiful game, it is one of the fastest growing sports in America. You watch. Over the next five years or so you will see thousands of kids playing soccer every weekend. They will grow up to be huge soccer fans and it won't be long before this country catches up with the rest of the world and makes soccer the number one sport in the country. You are an ignorant ass Begel (or is it Bagel). It just goes to show how much you suck.

Posted by GirlPower -- Shame on you OnMilwaukee.com. I come to this site every day for news and information, but I can't stand it that Begel (or is it Bagel) is on your front page. Until you remove him permanently I will not come to your site ever again. He is an embarrassment. It just goes to show how much you suck.

Posted by BruteForce -- I know MMA fighters who have Masters and Doctor degrees from DeVry University and Kaplan University in fields as varied as security guarding and crowd control management. Many of these academic geniuses could kick Begel's ass. He's never even tried to step into a ring an still he critics these events even though he knows nothing about them. I'd like to smash his face in. It just goes to show how much you suck.

Dave Begel Contributing Writer

With a history in Milwaukee stretching back decades, Dave tries to bring a unique perspective to his writing, whether it's sports, politics, theater or any other issue.

He's seen Milwaukee grow, suffer pangs of growth, strive for success and has been involved in many efforts to both shape and re-shape the city. He's a happy man, now that he's quit playing golf, and enjoys music, his children and grandchildren and the myriad of sports in this state. He loves great food and hates bullies and people who think they are smarter than everyone else.

This whole Internet thing continues to baffle him, but he's willing to play the game as long as OnMilwaukee.com keeps lending him a helping hand. He is constantly amazed that just a few dedicated people can provide so much news and information to a hungry public.

Despite some opinions to the contrary, Dave likes most stuff. But he is a skeptic who constantly wonders about the world around him. So many questions, so few answers.
