The MLB Winter Meetings got started today, and as expected, the Brewers quickly  got busy amending some of the roster's many holes. They re-signed lefty relief pitching specialist Alex Claudio, but perhaps most notably, they went to the waivers to claim Ronny Rodriguez, a utility infielder with the Detroit Tigers last season ... and a rapper?

Indeed, when he's not collecting hits on the diamond, Rodriguez has a side hobby releasing hits as a rapper, releasing several Spanish language songs and music videos as "El Felino" – which translates out to "The Feline." According to an interview with MLB.com, the infielder has been singing and performing music since he was 14, eventually releasing a professionally produced music video in late 2017 with "Vivencias De La Vida Real" ("Real-Life Experiences"). The video has currently racked up more than 470,000 views on YouTube. 

That's not his most popular video, though. That would be "Mi Sueño," a collaboration with Jerry El Sonido Perfecto released on YouTube in November of last year that's scored more than 665,000 plays. He, as well as former teammate Miguel Cabrera, even used his raps as occasional walk-up music during their seasons together in Detroit.

"It’s about my life," Rodriguez told The Detroit News in 2018, about his music. "It’s about what happens in Latin America. Poor kids who want to make their dreams come true, kids who fall out because they don’t have anything else to do. I don’t write them down. They are all up here (pointing to his brain)."

As for his on-field skills, Rodriguez is a career .221 hitter with 19 home runs and 63 RBI across his two years sporadically in the majors with the Tigers. Not exactly numbers as fire as his lyrics, so expect him to play a low-key role similar to Hernan Perez at most on the team next season – and expect the Brewers to continue making moves to fill gaps in the 2020 roster. But even if he's not the biggest signing of this offseason, Ronny Rodriguez is almost certainly the most musically talented.
