On Wednesday, players, coaches and staff will fan out across Milwaukee to give back to the community with surprise acts of kindness as part of the team’s #KindnessInMke event.

Virtually every member of the organization, from ownership to front office employees, the players and coaches, have been encouraged to come up with a creative way to give back to the Cream City. Teammates in the organization, both on and off the field, will surprise various unsuspecting patrons and non-profit organizations with acts that show their appreciation to the community that they call home.

The goal of the event is to do something impactful and fun. The activities will begin in the morning with members of the front office visiting local charities to make unannounced donations and supply gifts to various nonprofits around southeast Wisconsin. At noon, players will begin their rounds and will spend a minimum of $500 each in gifts or donations at everything from retail stores to kids’ events – and everything in between.

There are no rules, just encouragement for each player, coach and executive to come up with an idea that would be impactful and fun for them and their recipients.

Examples of likely player giving events include purchasing groceries for customers at grocery stores, picking up the tab for all patrons at a restaurant and purchasing baseball equipment for kids who are having a practice in a neighborhood park.

Participants and recipients will track their activities by using the social media hashtag #KindnessInMke throughout the day.
