Cousins Subs and the Milwaukee Bucks are teaming up for a second consecutive year to Block Out Hunger in Wisconsin.

Block Out Hunger will work to combat food insecurity throughout the state—both on and off the court. From March 1 to 31, the community is invited to donate three healthy nonperishable food items at their local Cousins Subs to support Hunger Task Force and food pantries throughout Wisconsin. Those who donate will receive a ‘buy a 7 ½" sub, get a free 7 ½" sub’ offer & Bucks ticket offer.

Cousins also encourages supporters to follow the Bucks this season. For every Bucks’ blocked shot, the company will donate $45 in honor of its 45th anniversary to Hunger Task Force. Dollars raised will support emergency food supplies at 41 pantries statewide.

"At Cousins, we have an unwavering dedication to uplifting the communities we serve and continuously seek ways to provide aide in areas that need it most," said Justin McCoy, vice president of marketing at Cousins Subs. "There are too many facing hunger each day and through ‘Block Out Hunger,’ we can work together to help those in need in communities across Wisconsin. We ask all to join us in this fight against hunger!"

During the campaign’s first year, Cousins restaurants collected a total of 3,229 pounds of food, which was distributed to 40 pantries throughout Wisconsin. In addition, Cousins donated $10,000 to Hunger Task Force to provide food for families in need.

"The fight against hunger is an important cause to both the Bucks and our great partners at Cousins Subs," said Matt Pazaras, Bucks senior vice president of business development and strategy. "Our relationship with Cousins goes beyond basketball to truly make a difference in our community. After a successful ‘Block Out Hunger’ campaign last season, we’re thrilled to join together once again to drive awareness and raise funds benefiting a fantastic organization in Hunger Task Force."

Cousins and the Bucks chose Hunger Task Force as the beneficiary of the Block Out Hunger campaign because it’s Milwaukee’s only Free & Local food bank, is Wisconsin’s leading anti-hunger organization and has a strong network of partnering pantries. The nonprofit collects nearly 10 million pounds of food a year and delivers it to 76 food pantries, soup kitchens and homeless shelters, which combined, serve more than 50,000 people each month.

"Hunger Task Force is excited to join our friends at Cousins Subs and the Milwaukee Bucks once again this year to help ‘Block Out Hunger.’ The campaign is a great way for communities statewide to learn more about hunger and support hungry families right in their neighborhoods," said Sherrie Tussler, executive director of Hunger Task Force. "We encourage everyone to bring healthy donations to their local Cousins Subs and hope to see plenty of blocked shots by the Bucks!"
