GREEN BAY -- I remember my wedding anniversary. I remember the birthdays of most of my immediate family members and closest friends (though I don't always remember to get a card or gift on time).
When it comes to other memorable dates, though, I'm pretty much worthless.
Maybe that's why I was surprised, but then again not, when my friend, Jason Wilde, reminded me that today is the one-year anniversary of the trade that sent Brett Favre to the New York Jets for a conditional draft pick.
That's right -- the biggest trade in Wisconsin sports history took place one year ago.
That transaction, which capped several agonizing weeks of controversy, conjecture and general Favre fatigue for Packers fans -- constituted one of those "where were you when you heard the news?" moments.
A year later, Favre is retired (again). Aaron Rodgers is the quarterback whose jersey is flying off the shelves at the Packers Pro Shop. The healing process is -- if not complete -- has progressed into its advanced stages.
Once Favre decided not to come back and play for rival Minnesota, most fans seemed ready to welcome him back to the family. At some point, the Packers will retire his jersey. He'll start making appearances at Lambeau Field and the headaches and heartaches of a year ago will be a distant memory.
For some of us, it already is.

I'd argue that the biggest trade in Wisconsin history is the one that brought Favre here from Atlanta. Sure, no one knew who he was and it got very little attention but without that trade, last year's trade (and approximately 160 Packer wins) wouldn't have happened.
