Former (at least for now) Packers quarterback Brett Favre breaks his silence about his comeback plans in an unusual place.
Rather than talking to ESPN's Chris Mortenson or Sports Illustrated's Peter King or other noted football reporters, Favre gave the scoop to Fox News' Greta Van Susteren, the host of "On the Record with Greta Van Susteren."
Van Susteren, a native of Appleton and a graduate of the University of Wisconsin, is a Packers fan and has interviewed Favre in the past. According to Fox News, she conducted the interview today and it airs tonight.
Van Susteren's show airs at 9 p.m.

It's past time for #4 to man up and talk to Ted and Mike. No more asking your wife to contact so and so to give you a chance to tell your side of the story. No more asking your agent to contact the Packers for you. No more maybe this, maybe that. Stand up and talk Dude. But before you do - take a look at yourself standing on the sidelines during the Bears game and again during the Giants playoff game. You sure didn't look nor play like you wanted to be on the field during those two games in that kind of wintery weather. Do you really want to play a full regular season in Green Bay or would you rather check the schedules and find some team that's playing their final games in the sunny South or out West?

For all the statements, inuendo, lies, demands, all we get from Favre is this? Fox and Greta should have folded up their tents and headed home, this guy shed no more light on the situation than the fact we now know who is trying to control and manipulate the Packers, it's Brett. To my beloved Packer fans don't be sucked into beleiving this hype that was created only to promote one individual and you saw that self promotion evident last night. Why wouldn't the Packers want to know wheter a key person on the team was returning before training camp. To quote a phrase often used when teams fail to be proactive with aging players, "caught with their Pants down".
