It seems like every day we get a new somebody throwing their hat into the ring for the Republican nomination for president of these United States.

We have governors, senators, congressmen, neurosurgeons, a woman who ran a big company, idle billionaires with too much time on their hands and too much hair on their heads and people who don’t seem to really have any job.

As the parade continues, each of these candidates is scrambling for air time and making sure their slogan shows up in every speech.

Ben Carson has "Think Big." Rand Paul has "Defeat the Washington Machine." Ted Cruz says he's "Reigniting the Promise of America." Scott Walker calls it either "Our American Revival (the name of his PAC) or "Unintimidated," (the title of his book).

The one category of people we don’t have running for the nomination are athletes. Many athletes already have great name recognition, but most of them need a slogan to make a serious run.

Here are some ideas:

Carlos Gomez: "Yo Soy Más Latino Que Marco Rubio."(Look it up).

Sammy Sosa: "Less Corrupt Than Almost Every Illinois Governor."

Dennis Rodman: "Much Crazier Than Ted Cruz."

Ryan Braun: "Let’s End the Failed War On Drugs."

Floyd Mayweather: "Let’s End the Failed War On Poverty."

Ronda Rousey: "I’ll Kick Their #@%*(^$ Ass."

Michael Vick: "This is Gonna Be A Dogfight."

Ray Rice: "I Can’t Be Beat, But They Can."

Adrian Peterson: "I’ll Whip Them All."

LeBron James: "Take My Talents To The White House."

Tim Tebow: "Thank God! I Mean, Thank God!"

Brett Favre: "Instagram For Everyone!"

Mike Tyson: "Please! Hear Me Out!"

William (The Refrigerator) Perry: "Cliff Christie’s A Lightweight."

And the final slogan that I think is a sure winner.

John McEnroe: "Are You *(&^%*)_)(*^#$##@@#% Kidding Me?"

With a history in Milwaukee stretching back decades, Dave tries to bring a unique perspective to his writing, whether it's sports, politics, theater or any other issue.

He's seen Milwaukee grow, suffer pangs of growth, strive for success and has been involved in many efforts to both shape and re-shape the city. He's a happy man, now that he's quit playing golf, and enjoys music, his children and grandchildren and the myriad of sports in this state. He loves great food and hates bullies and people who think they are smarter than everyone else.

This whole Internet thing continues to baffle him, but he's willing to play the game as long as OnMilwaukee.com keeps lending him a helping hand. He is constantly amazed that just a few dedicated people can provide so much news and information to a hungry public.

Despite some opinions to the contrary, Dave likes most stuff. But he is a skeptic who constantly wonders about the world around him. So many questions, so few answers.
