In past years, Sports Illustrated's Peter King has heaped a fair amount of praise on the Packers, especially quarterback Brett Favre.
Today, though, in his regular "Monday Morning QB" column on SI.com, King sings the praise of Milwaukee's own Midwest Airlines.
King flew out of Newark last Thursday to Milwaukee, and then drove to Green Bay.
"Even a 48-seat regional jet -- the airline industry's euphemism for "puddle-jumper'' -- was more comfortable and homey than other airlines' smallish planes," King wrote. King even loved the food and friendliness.
"Bottled water, pretzels and fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies (from a mix, obviously), delivered by a legitimately friendly flight attendant, made the 115-minute flight quite tolerable."
Even though he got pulled over on I-43 from Milwaukee to Green Bay (read more about it in the link below), he didn't let it get to him as he praised the service at his Packerland hotel, wondering if "all the welcome mats in the United States are manufactured in Wisconsin."
Thanks for the kind words, Peter. Glad you enjoyed your stay in our wonderful state.
