As if Milwaukeeans need another reason to resent Chicago...
Sports Illustrated magazine conducted a survey of more than 454 Major League Baseball players earlier this year and Milwaukee and Detroit tied for "least favorite road trip."
The Great Lakes neighbors each garnered 13% of the vote while Chicago was voted "favorite road trip" by an overwhelming 30%.
Milwaukee fared particularly poorly with players under 24. Nearly 31% of those players listed our town as their least favorite stop. You wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that the Brewers have the best home record in the majors (45-26) or if players just hate the nightly Sausage Race.
Here are the complete results, which hit newsstands tomorrow:
SI PLAYERS POLL
What is your favorite road trip?
Chicago.......30%
San Diego.......15%
New York.....11%
Seattle....8%
Your least favorite?
Milwaukee.....13%
Detroit.....13%
Washington, D.C. ...8%
New York....7%

A few years ago I remember an SI survey done on X number of professional athletes from all the major sports in the U.S., asking them which cities had the ugliest groupies. Philadelphia topped the list by far. Later that year they did another cross sport survey asking which city the athletes least liked to travel to; Philadelphia again topped the list. I'm not saying there's a correlation. I'm just sayin'...

In the media guide it shows a lot of teams (if they don't stay downtown) stay at the Sheraton in Brookfield when they visit. I'd hate Milwaukee too...what is there for a Major Leaguer to do in Brookfield. And yes I'm a baseball nerd with no life.
