Marquette's women's basketball team claimed the WNIT title with an 81-66 victory over Michigan State Saturday afternoon in East Lansing, Mich.
Angel Robinson scored 16 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead the Golden Eagles, who got 15 points from tournament MVP Krystal Ellis.
Marquette (21-14), playing the Spartans on their home floor, jumped out to a 23-2 lead and coasted to the victory. Michigan State closed to within 41-30 late in the first half, but Erin Monfre hit one of her five 3-pointers to put the Golden Eagles ahead at half, 45-33.
Michigan State never got closer than 10 points the rest of the way.
