@beersage fwiw, the Craft Brewers Alliance is a public company on NASDAQ. You or I can be a partial owner too.

Is it me, or are the Phillies getting old? This Polanco thing doesn't make much sense.

@TheHappyRecap As long as neither end up with the #Phillies or the #Yankees, that would be a victory too :)

Jeff Suppan was signed to a $42 million contract because of his ability to pitch in games like this. Facing elimination from the National League Division Series, Suppan was given the opportunity to start Game 4 and didn't deliver.

He allowed five runs on three home runs -- including a leadoff shot by Jimmy Rollins -- in a laborious, three-inning outing that silenced a crowd of 43,934. Instead of evening the series and sending CC Sabathia to pitch a Game 5 in Philadelphia Tuesday, the Brewers fell to the Philadelphia, 6-4, to end their postseason quest.

Much like the Brewers did in Game 3 against Jamie Moyer; the Phillies sat on Suppan and made him work. He needed 42 pitches to get through two innings and finished his day after just 65 pitches.

Suppan headed to the dugout after giving up five runs on six hits with two walks and three strikeouts.

Making matters worse for the Brewers was another no-show by the offense.

A day after tying a franchise postseason record with 11 hits, the bats fell silent. Philadelphia starter Joe Blanton allowed five hits over six innings and didn't let a runner get past first base until Prince Fielder homered to lead off the seventh, to make it 5-1.

The Phillies added another run in the eighth, when Pat Burrell homered of Guillermo Mota and the Brewers made it 6-2 in their half of the frame on Ryan Braun's RBI single.

Suppan was a disappointment.....but let's spread the blame around a bit.....hitting was terrible.... Hart an All-Star?.....Ha. When you have a pitcher come in to pinch hit, you're sending a message to your players and the fans....trade Hart....dsay goodby to Fielder and let's get a few young, talented and hungry ballplayers....Go BREWERS!!!! Thanks for the great ride!

Big mistake starting Suppan when other pitchers were available. It's the manager's fault really.
