Former UWM head coach Bruce Pearl is a busy man these days.
After his University of Tennessee Volunteers were knocked out of the NCAA Tournament by Oklahoma State, Pearl has been busy getting ready for next season by hitting the recruiting trail and traveling around the state to drum up support for his team.
Amidst the hectic travel schedule, Pearl did manage to find some time to pop the question to girlfriend Brandy Miller, whom he called the "love of his life" in a recent interview. He and Miller moved into a $2 million home over the summer in the Gettysvue neighborhood of Knoxville.
The coach, meanwhile, recently signed a six-year extension to remain in Knoxville, despite rumors that he would bolt for the vacant job in Memphis. At a recent appearance in Miller's hometown of Sevierville, Tenn., Pearl assured supporters that he had no intentions of replacing John Calipari, who left for Kentucky.
"If you think I'm leaving that for Memphis," he said while introducing his fiancée. "You're crazy."
Pearl, 49, and then-wife Kim Shrigley, divorced last year after more than 20 years of marriage. Last fall, Shrigley opened a hair and nail salon named "Alimony's" with money she received in the divorce settlement.

Sounds like Pearl sold out on his marriage, just like he did UWM!

I had the pleasure of dealing with Bruce while he coached at UWM. He was the nicest guy you could ever want to deal with. His former wife on the other hand was a rude, obnoxious, and mean lady. Ditching the old hag and getting some younger and hotter tail is a much deserved upgrade. Good for him!
