The Milwaukee lakefront will welcome the world's best water skiers this summer when the Pro Water Ski Tour visits the city later this summer.
The Malibu Open will take place Veterans Park on Aug. 6-7 and is one of just three stops on the 2010 tour.
"We wanted a site that would create excitement," said Dana Reed of Pro Slalom Events, the Malibu Open organizer. "Wisconsin is the center of the show ski world and we would like to tap into the excitement that has been created over many years."
Sixty of the finest skiers from around the globe will compete for $50,000 in prize money. In addition to the Record Capability Slalom and Jump event, contestants will also participate in the Show Ski, Free Style Jumping and Barefoot Skiing competitions.
Qualifying rounds will take place both Friday and Saturday afternoon with the finals taking place Saturday night under temporary lighting.
Admission to the Malibu Open will be free.
