Brewers fans and casual bettors, take note: the Famous Racing Sausages are moving.
No, they aren't leaving Miller Park. But, they are moving their daily race up a half-inning. After sprinting around the warning track for years after the sixth inning, the sausages now will make their trek during the middle of the sixth inning.
Ostensibly, Brewers players heading toward the on-deck circle will be aware of their presence -- at least more aware than a lot of stunned visiting players who have almost been trampled.
The official press release from the Brewers indicates that the sausages collectively bargained the change.
"It's a bit of a cliché, but it holds true that you can never win an argument with a Sausage," said Rick Schlesinger, the Brewers' executive vice president of business operations. "The discussion was actually quite amicable, given that we could not accommodate their other request for a personal chef."
