Now that was one amazing sports weekend:

    • The Brewers won a series at Miller Park. Not only that, they won three games in a row for the first time in two months. And, they damn near swept the Astros. They would have, had the bullpen not gagged and had Prince Fielder's last-ditch line drive sailed about 10 more feet.
    • The Packers dominated Cleveland in a rollicking exhibition opener at Lambeau Field. With several significant players out, the 3-4 defense pressured the Browns from every angle and pitched a shutout. Aaron Rodgers and Donald Driver hooked up on a touchdown pass that would be a highlight at any point of the season. It's too early to say that the Packers are playoff-bound, but it's not too early to say that the Browns stink.

The more interesting developments, though, were broader in scope.

    • Michael Vick sat down with James Brown on "60 Minutes," a conversation that was upstaged a bit by Vick's press conference Friday in Philadelphia but still packed an emotional wallop.
    • Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt set a world record in the 100-meter dash. At the world championships held on the track made famous by Jesse Owns, Bolt finished in 9.58 seconds to best his own mark by 0.11 seconds. That's the biggest improvement since electronic timing began more than 30 years ago. The guy, who is a freak of nature at 6 feet 5 inches, was running close to 30 mph midway through the race. Simply stunning.
    • Speaking of stunning -- Y.E. Yang of Korea pulled off a seemingly impossible feat Sunday when he outlasted Tiger Woods down the stretch in a major tournament. In what will go down as one of the bigger upsets in golf history, Yang battled from behind to take the 91st PGA Championship at Hazeltine National in Chaska, Minn. Yang's defining moment -- and the one that denied Woods a seemingly inevitable 15th major title -- was an incredible hybrid three-wood that cleared a tree and landed 10 feet from the cup on the 72nd and final hole. Yang's victory capped a bizarre year at the majors, when the losers stood out more than the winners. Angel Cabrera won the Masters because Kenny Perry faltered. Lucas Glover spoiled Phil Mickelson's chance for victory at the U.S. Open. Tom Watson yipped a par putt to lose a playoff to Stewart Cink at the British.

Couldnt agree with you more Sandstorm! Im sure im in the minority, but it was great to see. This "tiger hype" is warranted, but sooo tiring. I wish his personality was as good as his golf game!!
