Audio Podcast: Brewers reliever Seth McClung talks about the pitch that got away

How much did Ned Yost's managing style last night affect the Brewers' 2007 post-season chances? Maybe more than at first blush, as Major League Baseball suspended the Milwaukee skipper, along with pitcher Seth McClung, Thursday afternoon.

McClung has been suspended for three games and fined an undisclosed amount for intentionally throwing a pitch at Albert Pujols of the St. Louis Cardinals in the top of the eighth inning after warnings had been issued to both Clubs earlier during last night's game at Miller Park. Bob Watson, vice president of on-field operations for Major League Baseball, made the announcement.

Yost has been suspended for one game and fined an undisclosed amount for the intentional actions of McClung after warnings had been issued to both Clubs earlier in the game. Yost is scheduled to serve his suspension during Milwaukee's game tonight against San Diego.

Unless appealed, McClung's suspension is scheduled to begin tonight during his Club's game against the San Diego Padres at Miller Park. If appealed, McClung's suspension will be held in abeyance until the process is completed.

The Brewers remain two game behind the first-place Chicago Cubs entering Thursday night play. Milwaukee plays San Diego at home at 7:05 p.m., while the Cubs are taking on the Florida Marlins this afternoon on the road.

The Brewers will send left-hander Chris Capuano to the mound Friday. He's 5-12, and holds a 5.09 ERA.

The Brewers finish the series -- and the regular season -- this weekend.
