Join the American Cancer Society and Kohl’s Cares in the fight against breast cancer by joining the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer5K walk. By participating in this inspiring event, you honor and celebrate those impacted by breast cancer with every step you take and every dollar raised. When more walkers raise money to fight breast cancer, there will be more survivors able to celebrate more birthdays.

Maggiano's Family Kite Festival

The Kite Society of Wisconsin & Illinois and Gift of Wings are presenting the Maggiano’s Little Italy Family Kite Festival, in Veterans Park, a Milwaukee County park, on Milwaukee's lakefront. The event will begin at 10:00 am, through 6:00 pm, (5 pm Sunday) with the FAST Track GRAND LAUNCH of 600+ kites at NOON! .For the sixth time in Milwaukee, The Fabulous Windjammers precision kite flying team will be performing three times each day during this event. They are the world renowned professional kite flying team from Detroit. The Chicago Fire kite Team will also be flying with all six members for the 23rd straight year. In addition, Alex Dagenais and the Canadian Dream Team from Montreal, Quebec, will be making their 15th appearance with their large All NEW Super Giant Octopus kite, and other Giant kites. Milwaukee's own Mike Delfar, Paul Koepke, and Dan Newman, all Professional kite flyers, will also be performing. Jean Lemire from Montreal will attempt to fly three dual line stunt kites all at the same time. Free Kite Flying lessons from the Kite Whispererer, Brett Williams. We will also be giving away free kites to the first 100 kids that participate in the “KIDS MAD DASH". Imagine 100 kids launching their kites all at the same time. LOOK OUT!! Gift of Wings will be selling Kites and food during the event. It’s all new this Spring!!

FARE Walk for Food Allergy - Milwaukee

Food Allergy Research & Education (FARE) works on behalf of the 15 million Americans with food allergies, including all those at risk for life-threatening anaphylaxis. Food allergies affect approximately 1 in 13 children – roughly two in every classroom. FARE’s mission is to improve the quality of life and the health of individuals with food allergies, and to provide them hope through the promise of new treatments. The 2015 FARE Walk for Food Allergy - Milwaukee will take place on Sunday, June 7, 2015 at Veterans Park, 1010 N. Lincoln Memorial Drive. This family-focused walk offers a fun, allergy-friendly activity for the food allergy community. Walkers raise funds to support FARE’s mission and to increase awareness about the issue of food allergies. Registration opens at 8:30 a.m., and the walk begins at 10:00 a.m. Register today at, and help us say FAREwell to Food Allergies!

5th Annual Milwaukee Justice Center Run/Walk for Justice (5K run/1 mile walk)

Fundraiser for the Milwaukee Justice Center, a private/public partnership to help bridge the gap in access to justice within our community. 5K Run follows a USATF-certified course along the Lakefront at Veterans Park, with a 1-mile walk/Kids’ Run. Pre- and post-race entertainment provided by the Mission River Band Register here: Adults: $25 Students: $20 Kids' Walk: $10
