On Saturday, September 10th, and Sunday September 11th, The Kite Society of Wisconsin & Illinois, along with Gift of Wings, are presenting the MAGGIANO’S FRANK MOTS INT’L Kite Festival...38 Years, in Veterans Park on Milwaukee's lakefront. The event will begin at 10:00 am and run through 5:00 pm, with the Fast Track GRAND LAUNCH of 600+ kites at NOON! Now TWO great days of high flying fun!! I am excited to announce that The Chicago Fire Kite Team from Chicago, and Team O2, precision kite flying teams, will be performing three times each day during this event. Connor and Amy Doran, top 12 finalist from “America’s Got Talent” will be our guests once again. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lGvL7OTr2_0 Yves Laforest, and the Canadian Dream team from Montreal, Quebec, will be making their 16th appearance at Mots, flying the All NEW MEGA Octopus kite, and the Giant MANTA RAY kite. The Octopus kite is 150 feet in length and 50 feet wide. Brett Williams, the Kite Whispererer, will be giving FREE KITE FLYING LESSONS. Kites and food are available for purchase during the event at the Gift of Wings Kite Store. This fun filled family event is FREE to all, with plenty of FREE parking.

Join us for the American Heart Association's 2016 Milwaukee Heart & Stoke Walk and Fun Run. The free event features fun activities for the whole family, healthy snacks, and interactive booths to help you start living a more heart-healthy lifestyle! Gates open at 8:30am.The 5K Fun Run kicks off at 9:15am. There will be a short program at 10am followed by your choice of a 1 mile route or a 3 mile route. You can become a lung cancer hero! Fundraise and register to walk or run with hundreds of community members as they gather at the Milwaukee Free to Breathe Run/Walk October 8th at Veterans Park in Milwaukee. The inspirational day will include a 5K run/walk or a 1-mile walk, along with family friendly activities, a local DJ and silent auction. All proceeds from the event support Free to Breathe, a nonprofit lung cancer research and advocacy organization dedicated to ensuring surviving lung cancer is the expectation, not the exception. Help us double lung cancer survival by 2022!
