The Lake Express Ferry is launching its 13th season of service on Friday, April 29, providing modern high-speed ferry service from Milwaukee to Muskegon, Mich.

The four-engine powered, 148-ton, 248-passenger-carrying ferry takes only two and a half hours to cross the lake. The ferry is able to carry cars, motorcycles, bicycles and pets.

Several different price specials will feature cost-savings, including the popular Kids Ride Free promotion that allows kids aged between 5 and 17 to ride round-trip at no cost (normally $50) between June 15 and Aug. 31. Kids under the age of 5 always ride free.

Additionally, fares for motorcycles will be waived when accompanied by a paid adult passenger fare (savings of between $45 and $90) between April 29 and June 14, as well as between Sept. 6 and Oct. 24.

"Lake Express continues to be the quickest, most environmentally conscious ferry on the Great Lakes," said Aaron Schultz, vice president of sales, marketing at Lake Express. "We’re looking forward to another great travel season, serving travelers from all over the United States and the world."

The high-speed ferry will provide service between Milwaukee and Muskegon, with four daily trips through June 14 and six daily trips from June 15 through Sept. 5. Service continues through Oct. 24 with four daily trips.
