Coming soon to the Airport spur.

New "Mke" flying into Mitchell International Airport

Hats of to a new "Mke" project that will be a wonderful and significant entry feature to Milwaukee's airport.

In 2012, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation will reconstruct the Airport Spur (State Highway 119). The project will include new lanes, signage, lighting, landscaping and, thus, a greatly improved entrance way to our airport. Also, all roadway signage will be improved and updated.

And, to their credit, Mitchell International officials are including a roadway capital project in the median. The letters "Mke" will be shine and become a welcoming "hello" to those entering Milwaukee County's General Mitchell International Airport.

The state is funding the improvements to the Airport Spur and airport funds are being provided for the art work at a cost of $350,000.00. There's no tax levy impact, and it truly adds a welcoming, progressive and funky message to everyone coming to our already easy to use, clean and modern airport.

"There's no tax levy impact with this" Wow, that's great the contractors are donating all the time & materials. It's good to hear this won't cost anything. Why can't all projects be like this?
