Welcome to a weekly segment called "Social Circle." It's truly a group effort between readers, social networkers and the OnMilwaukee.com editors. Every Monday, we ask a question via Facebook and Twitter and then post the responses from our Facebook "likers" and Twitter followers in this column. Well-known Milwaukee movers and shakers will contribute, too.

Not having the money to travel is not the only reason to plan a "staycation." Sometimes, vacationing in your own city is more relaxing than traveling and when it's time to return to work, staycationers often feel like they played, rested and accomplished a few things.

With that thought in mind, this week OnMilwaukee.com asked the Social Circe what they would do if they had a Milwaukee staycation. Here are their responses and chime in with your own via the Talkback feature.

Patricia Assadi: "Going to the beautiful lakefront and the art museum."

Marino Baca: "Bar, pub, watering hole, repeat..."

Tom Bauer: "Probably laundry like any other week. Followed by much rest. With a grill and beers."

Michelle Borreson: "Brewery tours, lakefront activities and Miller Park."

Bridgette Breitenbach: "An overnight at the Iron Horse Hotel and shopping in the Third Ward."

Ann Brummit: "Custard."

Jeff Carter: "Sailing."

Christopher Corona: "Hippie Tom's farm."

Patrick Davies: "No such thing. I'll walk to Greenfield if I have to."

Katie Donoghue: "A night at the Iron Horse Hotel for some classy fun at night. And during the day I would rent a pontoon boat and hang on the river and spend the day at Barnacle Buds."

Holly Emmer: "Follow the shoreline by hiking Lion's Den Gorge Park in Grafton and/or the Audubon Nature Center. Oh! And look for the coyotes along the Hank Aaron Trail in the Menomonee Valley. Oh! Oh! And get a little boat and take it into the inlets in Downtown Milwaukee where the KK, Menomonee and Milwaukee Rivers meet."

Alissa R. Gonyea: "Doctors Park looking for beach glass, wagon ride to the kite store, fly a kite down at the lake, breakfast, lunch and dinner at Beans and Barley, tour de Value Village(s)."

Sarah Johaningsmeir: "Custard and curds."

Jenna Johnson: "Summerfest, grilling out, drinks outside, long walks and the lake."

Bev Jurkowski: "Movie matinee. Kite flying at Lakefront. Bike ride along Hank Aaron State Trail. Di Marini's Pizza."

Carrie Schubert McKenzie: "A Downtown carriage ride."

Debbi Miner: "We stayed at The Metro Hotel and went to Bastille Days. We were there for the running of the Bastille and went to the rooftop to cheer the runners on. It was nice to go to the street festival with an easy walk 'home' plus several great restaurants and bars also easy walks."

Bruttany Raess: "No work and doing something I never do. Like Discover World or something."

Claudia Reilly: "Afternoon at the Art Museum. Cocktail's at Bryant's ... Music and martinis at Hi Hat Garage.

Jill Severson Riefel: "Zoo, Brewers game, Kenosha outlet mall shopping and Sprecher Brewery tour."

Sarah Rosenblatt: "Artasia and Rosenblatt Gallery and good will with my boys. Also, the Milwaukee Public Museum is awesome. The view from Atwater Park, Phans Garden, Thai Barbeque, Beans and Barley."

Nathan King Schaefer: "Cleaning out the basement."

Liz Sharp: "A grill and a cooler full of beer!"

Shary Tran: "Beach. Museums. Hiking."

Beth Crivello Wagner: "Discovery World, the zoo, The Domes, the breakwall by McKinley Marina, Doctors Park, Klode Park and dinner out for mom and dad."
