Description [edit]
We are sure that you have seen the building. But do you know what the different colors on the building's flickering flame mean? The flame, on the top of the building, holds the key to tomorrow's weather and does a pretty good job with predictions. The next time you are downtown, look up at the Wisconsin Gas flame and use the following poem to formulate your forecast for the next day:

When the flame is red, it's warm weather ahead.
When the flame is gold, watch out for cold. When the flame is blue, there's no change in view.
Where there's agitation (aka flashing), expect precipitation.

Toastmasters 5th Anniversay event

The Toastmasters Club is proud to be celebrating its 5th Anniversary on April 1st.
The club is the local chapter of Toastmasters International, a non-profit educational organization with over 14,000 clubs in 122 countries. Toastmasters’ organizations help members become more confident leaders by recognizing that good leaders tend to be good communicators.

First formed in April of 2010, the Smokey’s Sensations club began as a USDA Forest Service corporate club and is now one of the only public clubs in the downtown Milwaukee area.   The group meets the first and third Wednesday at 12:00 p.m. in the Historic Gas Light Building main level conference room. You can find club meeting information on search ‘speaking’ in the Milwaukee area.

Members practice both formal and impromptu speaking before other members and develop leadership skills by chairing meetings or taking on other roles. Members may choose a communication track, a leadership track, or both. Participants progress at their own pace through a guided curriculum, receiving constructive feedback from other members along the way.
Membership in the Smokey’s Sensations Toastmasters Club is open to all interested parties. Toastmaster Club dues are $42.00 and a $10 club fee every six months.

Those interested in joining should contact Tammy Wood at
