101. Lake Express Ferry service restarts today
The replacement of an engine has been completed early, allowing the Lake Express Ferry to get back back underway a day earlier than expected after a 10-day shutdown for the repair.
102. Heading home to the first world
I am leaving the far eastern tropics and headed home to the USA. A 17-hour flight separates me from Los Angeles and then, in a week, Milwaukee. I'm looking forward to a nice visit with friends and family and a dose of that hometown medicine.
103. Six degrees of Milwaukee-Asian separation
It used to be Kevin Bacon, then Facebook hit the scene and now LinkedIn is a big player in the "Six Degrees of Separation" game. The world we live in is even smaller thanks to technology and globalization. It is surprising how many connections I make in the most far flung places with people who share something in common with me like a connection to my home turf.
104. The melting pot of Far East and Midwest food, part two
In my last blog, I talked about great local food here in Singapore I eat all the time. In this follow-up, I'll let you know what a displaced Milwaukeean would be able to dig up to be reminded of home. Sadly, but sometimes happily, the world is getting smaller and when it comes to shopping and dining out, you can find the same places and things virtually any place in the world. Singapore is no exception.

105. When Milwaukee looks huuuuge
When I haven't seen Milwaukee in a little while, it looks huge. Like New York City huge. Like the biggest city in the whole world huge.
106. Time Out Chicago travels to Milwaukee
Chicago's "where-to-go, what-to-do weekly" and guide recently explored Milwaukee. Here's what Time Out had to say.
107. $10 Noah's Ark tickets are always politically correct
On Tuesday, June 21, Noah's Ark will open at 6 a.m. and there will be a "rally" at 8 a.m. where opposing sides will "campaign" for their favorite water slide. Admission for this day will be $10, a whopping 75 percent off the regular ticket price.
108. I've not been everywhere, man
While planning next week's trip Up North, I started wondering just how much of Wisconsin I've seen over these last 37 years. So, I downloaded a map and started drawing on it, including the route I have planned for next week.
109. The melting pot of Far East and midwest food, part one
Like Milwaukee, Singapore is a melting pot. Both cities have diverse populations that bring with them a wide array of delicious foods. I thought I'd clue you in on some of the great local food found here and also let you know what a displaced Milwaukeean would be able to dig up to be reminded of home.
110. My little piece of paradise
"What's the deal with your obsession with the Dells," my friends often ask me. Well, I think I might have finally figured it out.
111. A Milwaukeean in Asia
I haven't lived in Milwaukee for over 20 years, but I am a Milwaukeean. Very few days pass when something Milwaukee doesn't enter into my life.
112. Museum summer hours begin June 14
Summer hours at the Milwaukee Public Museum go into effect June 14.
113. WSJ road trips to Wisco
The Wall Street Journal realizes Wisconsin is more than a budget battleground and included the state in its "The Off Duty Guide to Savoring Summer."
114. Road trip, Day 5: Home sweet home
Travel expands your perspective and gives you a clear appreciation of home.
115. Road trip, Day 4: Shivering
Okay, you've been on a car trip. You drive to Indianapolis or Columbus or wherever and when you get out of the car to fill up, the temperature is very different since the last time you were out. Especially driving North to South or vice versa, the temp varies from stop to stop - but NOT on a motorcycle.

116. Road trip, day 3: Memphis
Michael Stodola is on a Harley road trip and today's blog is from Memphis where he attends a BBQ festival. "Memphis in May" is not unlike a Milwaukee Festival except there are hundreds of people busily cooking the best BBQ of their lives.
117. Greyhound boosts Express service to Chicago and O'Hare
Thanks to growing demand, Greyhound today announced the expansion of its premium Greyhound Express service between Milwaukee and Chicago, effective May 17. Buses will now depart every hour and a new stop has been added near O'Hare Airport.
118. Don't let the salt piles fool you, it's Lake Express Ferry season
Earlier today I saw dump trucks adding loads of salt to the growing stockpile for the roads next winter, just a block or so away, the Lake Express Ferry is getting ready for another season.
119. Kids can ride Amtrak for free
Kids can ride free this month on Amtrak.

120. Little girls may thank heaven for Key Lime Cove's Enchanted Lagoon
We celebrated the arrival of spring break recently with a visit to Key Lime Cove waterpark in Gurnee, Ill. And while for us, at the moment, nothing beats floating down the lazy river in an inner tube with your loved ones, I saw something right outside the water park entrance that might appeal to one of my kids in a few years.
121. Lake Express will get late start
The start of the 2011 Lake Express sailing season will be delayed by approximately three weeks as work is done to complete an off-season engine maintenance program, according to a release sent out today.
122. More musings on the royal wedding
It was 30 years ago that Prince Charles got married to Princess Diana. It is the 6th rated television program of all time. That's pretty good, especially considering the fact that there were no DVRs in those days. If you wanted to watch it later in the day, you needed to wrestle with the VCR.
123. Don't knock the royal wedding
I know it's fashionable for people in this country to kind of slap around the big wedding of William and Kate. I'm not sure what's behind it.
124. Mexico's Riviera Maya makes for a week of fun in the sun (and water)
The week went by too fast, but still provided plenty of time to eat, drink and laze around in the sun.
125. A spring sprint to the finish line
For as much time as I spent thinking about these Spring Training trips all year long, they actually come and go pretty quickly. This year's was no exception.
