Now that the Brewers are facing the Phillies, it's all coming together for this joint Mets / Brewers fan. Or is it?

The Brewers are battling the Phils in the NL Wild Card race -- Houston is in the mix, too, now -- and the first-place Mets need to keep the second-place Phillies at bay, too.

So, when the Brewers take the field in Philadelphia over the next few days, they can make me a happy baseball fan by soundly thumping Philadelphia (I don't mean the town, which I like, but the team, which I don't like).

Ben Sheets faces Jamie Moyer in tonight's match-up and the teams meet again Friday night, Saturday afternoon and Sunday afternoon.

Let's root, root, root for the visiting team, if they don't win it's a shame.

The only major problem with this theory is that if the Brewers win that wild card slot and the Mets maintain their first-place position, the two teams would meet in the first round of the playoffs. Doh!
