The short-lived breakfast and lunch eatery, Brunch on Mason, has been closed for a while, but will be replaced by a new restaurant called Café Plaza Venezuela.
Last June, Brunch on Mason replaced The Panini Company at 530 E. Mason St. in Downtown Milwaukee’s East Town neighborhood.
Café Plaza Venezuela, according to a sign at the space, will be open in June. Owner Hugo Martinez confirmed a June opening and told me via e-mail that "Plaza Venezuela (will be) focused on servicing Downtown Milwaukee’s demand for affordable, natural, freshly made, satisfying food on a fast service setting for the breakfast and lunch rush hours. Prices for whole meals will range between $5 and $9."
Its Web site is under construction.
