After long years of hiatuses, things are officially back in full swing. This weekend proves it! There are two grand openings this weekend, The Tap Yard beer garden and the new western-themed Saloon bar. Milwaukee Ballet and Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra have performances all weekend long. You can cheer on the Brewers at our home field. Support the AAPI Community by exploring their culinary traditions with Asian Restaurant Week. Enjoy festivals all over the city like Maifest, Grilled Cheese Food Truck Fest and Beerfest. Explore the different museums with Member Swap Day. Take the whole family to Big Truck Day, Moving Day Milwaukee, Elephant Appreciation Day and MAM’s Block Party. There’s so much more we can list off, but instead, you can just dive into our guide and prepare yourself for a jam-packed weekend. 

FRIDAY

Schlitz ParkX

BEER GARDEN GRAND OPENING
The Tap Yard is officially opening at Schlitz Park this Friday at 4 p.m. To celebrate, there will be some rare beer tappings from Central Waters Brewing including XXIV - Anniversary Stout, Double Barrel Stout and XXIV - Coconut Macaroon, along with 24 other craft beers on tap. There will be yard games and food trucks featured as well. You won’t want to miss this! 

CONSTELLATIONS OF THE ZODIAC 
We have officially entered a new zodiac season. Because of this, the planetarium will be having a live interactive show that will explore the stories and science of the zodiac constellations with a focus on this month’s constellation, Gemini. Tickets are $6 and the show begins at 7 p.m.

A FUNKY NIGHT OUT 
To support its efforts, Savage Support, an organization that supports women as they endure breast cancer, will be hosting its annual benefit party. Starting at 6 p.m. the event will include old-school DJ music, heavy appetizers, wine, beer and a signature cocktail. They’re also offering a ton of high-end raffle prizes, like tickets and a hotel stay to the American Music Awards in Los Angeles. Admission is $50. 

PAIGE WELDON & LOGAN GUNTZELMAN 
These two are both LA-based comedians and writers that have made festival and TV appearances. Now, you can see them at our local comedy joint this Friday at 8 p.m. Tickets are $20. Seating is limited.

ELEPHANT APPRECIATION DAY 
Celebrate the world’s largest land animal at the Milwaukee County Zoo. This annual event supports these intelligent creatures with hay room tours, a marketplace, elephant ears, an Animals in Action talk, a zookeeper display, a trunk game and more. It all starts at 10:30 a.m.

BEYONCE & JAY-Z VS. RIHANNA & DRAKE
It’s Company Brewing’s 7th anniversary. There’s no better way to celebrate than dance to these iconic hip-hop/pop duos all night long. DJ Bizzon will play the best songs, remixes, album cuts and throwbacks with movies/videos from these artists on the big screen. The cover is $10. The party begins at 10 p.m. 

UNCOOPED
Great Lakes Distillery, 91.7 WMSE and Central Waters Brewery will be putting on a block party and bottle release this Friday. There will be live music, beer, cocktails made with a new whiskey release and food. You can check it out from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. 

MAKE A PROMISE GALA 
To help fight against and raise funds for HIV/AIDS, Vivent Health will host its annual gala taking place at the Wisconsin Center. The night will be filled with inspiring stories as well as a revolutionary performance by members of the Broadway show Hamilton. Dinner and drinks will be provided as well.
