The whole month of February, we're serving up intoxicatingly fun articles on bars and clubs – including guides, the latest trends, bar reviews, the results of our Best of Bars poll and more. Grab a designated driver and dive in!

42 Ale House, a pub-style restaurant and bar, will open this spring in the former Übeer Gastropub location at 3807 S. Packard Ave.

In 2013, I first reported that owners Lynn and Anthony Nilles were opening 42 Lounge at 326 E. Mason St. 42 Lounge was also named Best New Bar by OnMilwaukee.com readers in 2014.

"For fans of the original 42 Lounge, don’t worry, it isn’t going away. 42 Lounge will remain largely intact with a stronger focus on being a ‘geek nightclub’ while 42 Ale House strives for a more relaxed and comfortable setting," reads the 42 Ale House's Facebook page.

42 Ale House will be every bit as "geek-centered" as the Downtown lounge and will feature video games, tabletop and cosplay.

42 Ale House will have a beer-centered menu, in contrast to 42 Lounge's large cocktail menu. Chef and restaurateur Jeff Oberholtzer is in the process of creating an "upscale pub fare" menu.

The exact opening date is uncertain, but stay tuned to OnMilwaukee.com for more information or visit 42 Ale House’s Facebook page. Hopefully there are enough geeks in St. Francis to support this new venture. With multiple bars, a fireplace and a spacious patio, it's a really sweet space.
