Get ready for a celebration like none other when The Whale Goes Wonka on Friday, Oct. 26 in celebration of Halloween.

The Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory themed party will kick off at Lost Whale, 2151 S. Kinnickinnic Ave., at 8 p.m. with candy, cocktails and a riotous mix of snozzwangering good times.

"I’ve been waiting for this moment my whole life," notes Lost Whale co-owner Tripper Duval. "I’m a grown-ass man, but it’s literally everything I want in a Halloween bash."

Exactly what does that mean? Well, here are six amazing things you’ll miss if you choose not to attend.

1. Sip on a Wonka-tail

Ever get the urge for something a little different? How about a cocktail inspired by Wonka brand candies?

Duval and co-owner Dan Beres are partnering up with Diageo brands (the keepers of spirits including Ketel One, Tanqueray and Bulleit) to create a slew of scrumdiddlyumptious new cocktails they plan to conjure up using candy-filled infusions, syrups and whimsical garnishments. And they’ll all be served up in unique glassware.

2. Sample Fizzy Lifting Drinks

Make your way to the tented, heated patio and you’ll find a Fizzy Float Station featuring boozy, fizzy ice cream floats that are sure to give you the lift-off you need to make it through the night.

3. Swim the chocolate river

You’ll also find a deliciously warming chocolate river (er … boozy chocolate fountain) complete with delicious skewered fruit that’s been injected with a bit of booze. Boats, tunnels and creepy singing Gene Wilders not included.

4. Savor an everlasting gobstopper

What would a Willy Wonka themed party be without plenty of candy? And trust us when we assure you there will be plenty available, from Gobstoppers to Runts and everything in between.

Even better, you can dance off your sugar high all night long to the sounds of Milwaukee’s own DJ Vega.

5. Claim your Golden Ticket

You could also be the lucky winner of a prized Golden Ticket. Just watch Lost Whale’s Instagram feed beginning Monday, Oct. 1 as they launch a seven day Golden Ticket Giveaway during which three lucky winners will be bequeathed with bottle service for four at the Halloween Bash. Winners will be announced on Oct. 9. No annoying morality test required.

6. Get judged by the Eggdicator

Love to dress up? You’re in luck. Costumes are encouraged. Even better, if your costume is deemed a "good egg," you might even win the costume contest, which comes complete with bragging rights and a $100 Lost Whale gift card.

Keep in mind, this is Willy Wonka-land, so it's the perfect opportunity to debut your sassiest rendition of Veruca Salt. Or maybe the unforgettable stripes of Augustus Gloop. How about sporting the terrible spray tan of an Oompa Loompa (originally known as a "Whipple Scrumpet")? You could even conjure the purple prowess of Violet Beauregarde.

If you're feeling particularly creative, you could take on the challenge of becoming Miranda Mary Piker, a character expunged from author Raold Dahl's published work. Dahl described her as "the filthiest, rudest and most disobedient creature you could imagine." Yeah, she sounds fun. Fittingly, in the early drafts of the book, she falls into the chocolate waterfall and gets turned into peanut brittle.

Not the costume type? No worries. There will be plenty of fun Willy Wonka props available along a plethora of great spots to grab a Wonka-worthy selfie, including a fancy step and repeat station on the patio.

In the meantime

Even as you’re counting down the minutes to Oct. 26, there’s plenty to enjoy at Lost Whale.

Take for instance its Happy Hour, which takes place Monday through Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. It features half-off tap beer and seasonal cocktails. That means $4.50 old fashioneds for you and all your friends.

Other specials include:

Sundays: "F*ck Brunch" from 3 to 8 p.m.: Enjoy drink specials featuring Hendrick’s gin and 3 Sheeps beer. As a bonus, $1 from each item purchased is donated to one of two water-based charities (Sweet Water or Milwaukee River Keepers).

Wednesdays: "Wu Wednesday" from 9 p.m. to close: Jam out to '90s hip hop legends Wu Tang Clan while enjoying half off Monkey Shoulder scotch pours and discounted Killa Bees. (That’s a warmingly delicious cocktail made with Scotch, lemon, honey, Bittercube Blackstrap bitters and Taco Moto hot sauce.)

Starting in November

Beginning in November, Lost Whale will add two more daily specials to the mix.

Mondays: "Case of the Mondays" will take place from 9 p.m. to close featuring throwback brews for $1 and $3 shots of house bourbon.

Tuesdays: "Turnt Tuesdays" will feature DJ Fuzzy Logic from 9 p.m. to close, plus drink specials featuring Jameson Irish Whiskey and Champagne Velvet beer.
