Earlier this week, OnMilwaukee.com reported that At Random was for sale. However, the listing is no longer online and according to The Boerke Company's Kristian Sydow, it is "no longer available."

Sydow was unable to comment any further.

According to an OnMilwaukee.com source, there may be a deal pending on the At Random property, as well as five other buildings held by the same owner. A rumor circulating suggests that the developer who purchased the properties plans to tear them down.

Ald. Tony Zielinski later confirmed this was true: about three or four weeks ago a developer, whose name he did not disclose, expressed interest in demolishing the At Random building and putting a 120-unit apartment complex in its place.

Zielinski says he told the developer there would have to be a community meeting about the issue and ultimately the neighborhood residents would decide.

"Whatever my constituents want is what I will support," says Zielinski.

As of 5:30 p.m., Zielinski had not heard back from the developer, but says anything is still possible.
