During a pivotal scene in the movie "About Last Night," Rob Lowe's character, Danny Martin, approaches his former girlfriend, Debbie, played by Demi Moore, in a Chicago bar.
Danny hopes to salvage their relationship. Debbie has other ideas.
"Stop following me," Debbie / Demi says, curtly. "I don't want to start drinking in the suburbs."
OnMilwaukee.com readers don't mind drinking in the suburbs. And, they definitely don't mind doing it at Leff's Lucky Town.
Leff's, located at 7208 W. State St., was a runaway winner for best suburban bar in the OnMilwaukee.com readers' poll. There is nothing particularly fancy about Leff's, but it's as comfortable as a pair of old jeans.
The simple saloon -- home to dozens of softball, kickball, volleyball and touch football teams as well as plasma TVs, decent bar food and the biggest urinal in the tri-county area -- draws steady business on just about every night of the week and gets jam-packed for special events like Opening Day, Tosa Fest and Hartfest.
Other bars receiving consideration in the poll included Silver Spring House, Shorewood's Village Pub, Harry's, Piano Blu in Pewaukee and the Trysting Place Pub, a Menomonee Falls mainstay.
