It can be hard to be the new guy, and that's certainly true in the case of the Milwaukee bar scene.

With so many established bars to compete with, breaking onto the scene can be tough. But for those that carve out their niche and deliver on their initial promise with character and service, Milwaukee is always willing to add another stop to the bar crawl.

This year OnMilwaukee.com readers decided that the ping-pong club SPiN Milwaukee was the best of the new batch. Owned by an investor group that includes actress Susan Sarandon, SPiN Milwaukee plopped its table tennis, food and lounge concept down in the Third Ward after launching in Manhattan, and it seems to have scored some early points with our readers.
