Pabst Brewing Company announced today that it will open a new brewery in the summer of 2016 on the site of the original Pabst Brewery.

Partnering with Milwaukee-based developers Zilber, Ltd. and BRM, Pabst plans to sign a multi-year lease on Building 23 – the former First German Methodist Church – in the Pabst brewery complex. The building is located on the corner of West Juneau Avenue and North 11th Street.

Building 23 also served as the Pabst employee training center.

The building will feature a micro-brewery / tasting room on the ground floor and a restaurant on the second floor.

The brewery will offer former Pabst recipes and possibly experiment with new recipes, too. Mike Eitel, restaurateur and owner of Nomad World Pub, will operate the restaurant. Pabst and Eitel will lease space from the building owner, Blue Ribbon Management, LLC.

Most of the former brewery buildings in the complex have already been redeveloped, including a hotel, apartments, offices and other new uses.
