Oak Creek is getting a taste of Milwaukee beer, and its first brew pub, as Water Street Brewery announced today that it's building in Drexel Town Square, just east of the interstate at the intersection of Drexel and Howell Avenues.

The new location broke ground today and hopes to open in summer 2015.

The first Water Street Brewery opened in 1987 in Downtown Milwaukee, with additional locations Delafield (1999) and Grafton (2010). To date, the brewery has brewed more than 71,000 half barrels.

The Oak Creek location will "reflect the industrial history of the area and feature its signature brewing system of kettles and tanks that process and serve beer on premise."  It also will showcase an extensive display of more than 50,000 beer cans, 1,100 beer taps and knobs, 825 bottle openers, 2,300 coasters and 10 original Wisconsin brewery lithographs.
